I've always wanted to be a jogger, but am too much of a slacker. SO I signed up for a marathon...and I DID it :) I have lost, and kept off, ~50 pounds in the past few years by changing the way I move and eating better.
I'm also hooked on bellydancing, and found it a great way to tone and have fun. After a knee injury I've been exploring all kinds of new ways to be fit to suppliment running. During grad school I took advantage of my school gym and begun Operation Uberfrau - stepping it up a notch to really focus on a more healthy me. Now that I'm done (hooray!) I'm sticking with my morning workouts and seeing where this new chapter of my life takes me :)
This blog is to track my progress and keep me motivated. I don't know how interesting you'll find it all to read, but if you keep up with me, we can do it together!

I'm definitely not trying to create a monster in my lab and I'm definitely not working on a cure for cancer...OK so I hope the research I do might help cure cancer some day...the monster thing just sounds more cool...if being a scientist can be said to be cool...umm...
